Axcis Education is the leading specialist supply teaching agency, dedicated to providing quality support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant to work across schools in the Torbay area.
As a Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of SEND needs, ensuring they receive the tailored support necessary to achieve their full potential. You will work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and external professionals to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEND needs.
- Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs).
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist students with their academic and personal development.
- Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to adapt resources and teaching strategies.
- Maintain records and report on student progress.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant is essential.
- Knowledge of various SEND needs and effective strategies for support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and adaptability.
- A valid Right to Work document.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
