SEND/SEMH Classroom Youth Support Worker

Our SEMH Schools caters for students with SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and additional learning difficulties. We aim to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and resilience that supports our students to grow into purposeful young adults, so they are able to contribute to society in a positive way. These positions are both temporary and supply, as well as long-term positions, all for an immediate start.
We are looking for Learning Support Assistants who are excellent practitioners, who take on a creative and dynamic approach to learning and are willing to commit to on a long-term basis to the school settings. We are looking for individual with a genuine passion and strong understanding of SEND, and more specifically SEMH learning environments. They are looking for individuals who have a fantastic work ethic, who can bring their dedication and specialist knowledge to help students learning and development, as well as strategise approaches in de-escalating instances of Challenging Behaviour.

Job Responsibilities
- Supporting SEND students at all age ranges and attainment levels
- Heavy focus on either Autism, SEMH, of other Learning Difficulties
- Ability to engage and support pupils across activities and learning
- Supporting in both group work and 1:1 support
- Supervising, coaching and mentoring behaviour of pupils

Job Requirements
- Experience of supporting children or young adults with challenging behaviour and SEND
- Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging Behaviour
- Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
- Available FULLTIME 5-days a week and able to commit to at least 1-6 months
