Overview:
Senior Account Director

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Account Director to join the team. You are seen by both the clients you lead and our people as a leader who makes a positive impact, working closely with your Business Unit Director to do so.

You create the day-to-day culture and working practices with your direct and indirect reports. We see you grappling (and winning) with the challenges around clients’ business problems, the state of the client agency relationship and the quality of the agency output. You act in a way that always aligns to our vision and clearly communicate on that in everything you do.

You are seen as a peer to your clients, they call upon your wealth of experience to provide on-the-spot insights and solutions. You think and act quickly, and you’re comfortable dealing with ambiguity and hunch when you don’t have all the information you need. You’re motivated to help clients and our people realise futures for their brands, companies and themselves. You are a source of excitement and new ideas.

You will be expected to:
INSPIRE
  • Contribute to the evolution of the agency to build on our core service offer to clients to add Cx, Omnichannel, and other novel capabilities.
  • As the client brand team leader, work alongside the agency leadership team to make the relationship as strong as possible.
  • Promote our Omnichannel capability and working with your Business Unit Director, actively seeking opportunities with clients
  • Ensure agency excellence through creative deliverables and cross functional working practices. This will need you to balance the needs of the agency with the needs of the client.
  • Be an inspiring and positive presence within the agency, able to motivate others to give their very best.
DIRECT
  • Manage and inspire your team by delegating tasks appropriately, using situational leadership to ensure everyone has a clear role and feels bought into the bigger picture.
  • Deliver accurate (within 5%) forecasts and monthly projections, ensuring profitability.
  • Work closely with your Business Unit Director to proactively address the ongoing risks and opportunities of any account, developing actionable strategies to address.
LEAD
  • Manage team dynamics and set an example of leadership to foster a high-performing team on existing clients as well as in new business scenarios.
  • Engage in annual brand planning process to develop strategy and secure revenue for the upcoming year.
  • Identify new initiatives for clients by promoting and pulling through all Newco, OHG & OMC opportunities.
  • Role model our agency values, internally and with clients, and help drive agency initiatives to shape our culture and capabilities.
  • In a new world of hybrid working practices, you will orchestrate those around you to get the best out of them and they the best version of you.
NURTURE
  • Forge strong relationships with all levels of clients, extended client teams, OHG network partners, and other vendors or associations.
  • Create a positive spirit and culture for your team members and your clients, so that all can flourish; and know the impact you have on your team.
  • Help direct reports set realistic goals, and provide opportunities for goal attainment through on-the-job coaching and training.
DRIVE
  • Drive organic growth on your accounts and foster a business-building orientation with your team to meet and exceed agency revenue forecasts and secure new business – having a ‘hunter mindset’.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and insights, evaluate client research, and lead the deeper understanding of how these will impact clients’, and our, business.
  • Identify and lead opportunities for new client business and new pitches
Skills & experience:

You are likely to be degree educated; but more importantly know how to apply the experiences you’ve had over the last 6 years to the benefit of the agency.
Your clients and your team must see you as a leader and have that credibility immediately with them.

You should have experience of leading client business and agency teams, ideally at regional and global levels. This is a full-on job; and will require all the things that go with that, including business travel.

You will need a foundational skill set defined by being able to balance the reality of leadership in a modern agency. You’ll need to openly balance tensions and wrestle with paradoxes every day.
