Pensions Investment & Governance Manager
If you’re a Pension Fund professional looking for more responsibility, join us at Warwickshire County Council. With around £3bn of assets benefitting over 55,000 members, we are responsible for ensuring that significant pension funds are well governed. It’s a critical role where you’ll take the lead on investment management and governance arrangements and aim for the highest standards. Ready to make a meaningful difference? Be part of the team at Warwick.
You will be part of a team, working with a range of colleagues including professional advisers, the pension fund committees and Local Pension Board, employer representatives, the Border to Coast Pension Partnership and related partner funds, and the administration team to name a few. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure the Warwickshire Pension Fund has the appropriate governance, and financial management. A hugely important task.
You could be leading the development and delivery of strategies one day and tackling hands-on operations the next. In short, it’s a varied role where you’ll realise commissioning plans with the help of your team and ensure we comply with the Fund’s objectives and legal requirements.
We’ll be looking to you to ensure the correct controls are in place for pension fund activities. That means, for example, working closely with the Border to Coast Pension Partnership on investment pooling, and working closely with the Fund’s actuaries on the triennial valuation. You’ll be the Council’s technical expert on many pension fund matters, so you’ll need a gift for communication. Strong relationships are key, so you must be an excellent leader and people manager.
To join us, you must have at least three years’ experience at a senior level, managing substantial funds. At home in a complex organisation, you’ll know all about investing in LGPS or DB pension funds, and pension fund/financial reporting. Underpinning this experience will be a relevant professional qualification such as a CCAB or equivalent. If you approach your work with passion and purpose, then we want you to work for us.
