Hays are recruiting for a successful manufacturing company based in the Trafford area, who are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a temporary basis for maternity cover. This is a great opportunity to work with a leading global company and develop your skills and experience.
Your new role
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:
- Assist in the month end routines, reports & reconciliations including preparation of journals (Debtors, Stock, Creditors, Bank & Nominal Ledgers)
- Raising and posting journals.
- Oversee and manage the contents and correspondence within the mailbox.
- Process supplier invoices & credit notes (stock & non-stock) and reconcile supplier statements
- Assist the Finance Team with any requirements and produce a weekly payment forecast to the Finance Manager for cash flow reporting
- Processing expenses
- Preparing, reconciling and submitting the quarterly VAT return to HMRC/
- Supplier registration form completion
- Preparing all weekly and monthly payment runs and setting up all payments from the bank, including direct debits.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have experience in an Accounts Payable Manager role and possess strong relationship building skills, attention to detail and great excel skills. You will be able to hit the ground running, with a confident and effective communication style, in order to work closely with the team. You will be available to start from the beginning of April.
