The CRUK Scotland Institute is a leading cancer research centre based at the University of Glasgow's Garscube Estate in Bearsden, supporting cutting-edge work into how cancers develop and spread with the goal of finding better ways to treat them. As well as core support from Cancer Research UK, we receive an additional third of our income from external grants and industry collaborations. Position Outline
We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated administrator with excellent organisational skills and a calm and resourceful personality to become a key member of our Administration team.
In this exciting and diverse role, you will take responsibility for:
- Providing administrative support for the Institute’s scientific reviews and visits as well as retreats and other staff events. This will include booking rooms and venues, organising catering and on occasion preparing agendas and minuting meetings.
- Managing the relationship with the travel service provider.
- Coordinating and on occasion participating in shared Administration staff activities, including the reception service.
- Providing a PA service to senior managers and other members of the faculty as required. This will include managing diaries, travel, accommodation, and expense claims.
You will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and be able to work independently or as part of a team. Although standard office hours apply to this role flexibility is expected to enable critical deadlines to be met and there maybe occasions when you will be required to attend events outside office hours.
