HSBC Asset Management (AM), the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. HSBC Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.
The AM Alternatives (Alts) platform is a significant area for growth with existing teams focus on Indirect, Private Credit, Real Assets, Venture Capital, and Capital Solutions. The role holder will be responsible for supporting the analysis, integration, and reporting of ESG issues across the Alternative investment platform. The role holder will help analyse and incorporate ESG factors into the Indirect investment procedures. You will be instrumental in shaping transactions within the Group’s Net Zero Accelerator (NZA) program and deals throughout the Indirect capability to evaluate how sustainability concerns affect investment choices. Additionally, you will communicate with Group Partners (GPs) regarding ESG issue management when necessary. This individual is anticipated to participate in cross-functional efforts within Alts and/or AM.

In this role you will:
• Assist in integrating ESG principles into NZA and Indirect investment strategies. Contribute to the development of a sustainable framework that aligns with Group standards and regulatory requirements for responsible investing.
• Provide insights, analysis, and data on relevant ESG issues to support the work of the investment teams.
• Engage with General Partners at a senior level to drive improvements on significant ESG matters that can enhance shareholder value.
• Aid the investment and client teams in addressing ESG-related inquiries from the Group and clients.
• Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders globally to facilitate the inclusion of ESG considerations in investment processes.
