Senior Associate - Finance(Finance Manager). OUR CLIENT is an active and dynamic Real Estate Investment Manager with ambition, they focus on value add opportunities across the commercial property spectrum. They have a proven track record of delivery and have a positive transaction pathway since inception. Now they have instructed us to help them identify an ACA or ACCA qualified professional to take on a Senior Associate - Finance role (Finance Manager) and join their small, dedicated finance team. The Client is looking for someone meticulous with attention to detail and who is an effective communicator and able to 'muck in' but capable of expanding horizons and building relationships.
THE ROLE of Senior Associate - Finance will include the following responsibilities:
- Control relationships with key external stakeholders as well as outsourced accountants, administrators and auditors.
- Review books and records, management accounts and financial statements prepared by external parties.
- Identify and feedback development and review points, and follow up to ensure they are addressed.
- Review VAT returns, cashflows, payment runs, management accounts and other work prepared in-house by the Associate in the Finance team, and mentor and coach this individual.
- Control certain projects and ensure all relevant deadlines are met.
- Be comfortable preparing certain workstreams, including covenant testing and bank reporting, where required.
- Assist the Finance Director in adding value to the business by identifying and implementing new controls, processes and improvements.
- Collaborate with other teams within the company.
- Support the Finance Director in providing due diligence and deal support (prior experience of this is not necessarily expected).
THE PERSON and SKILL REQUIREMENTS for a Senior Associate:
- A Level or equivalent (Grades A-B) and Batchelors Degree (Grade 2:1)
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Experience in real estate and/or private equity.
- A keen eye for detail.
- Experience and aptitude in preparing and reviewing books and records, VAT returns, management accounts and financial statements.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Prior experience of the accounting software Xero would be advantageous but is not a requirement.
