We have an excellent opportunity for the role of Senior Bid Finance Specialist, primarily based in either Belfast, Bristol, or Birmingham.

Success in this position will hinge on winning and retaining profitable business across B&PS key accounts in strategic deals. Crucial aspects of this role involve driving financial risk mitigation, managing key commercial issues, and positively influencing win rates to directly impact BT’s pursuit of profitable growth in more complex deals.

The role will include providing financial leadership, influencing the bid support function, ensuring the quality and accuracy of bid responses, and establishing yourself as an advisor to senior management while serving as a subject matter expert for bids.

You'll have the following responsibilities

• Recognised expertise: Acknowledged as an expert both within and outside of BT.
• Deal strategy influence: Act as a trusted consultant to shape deal strategies.
• Financial risk management: Identify, quantify, and assure financial risks.
• Win price and strategy recommendations: Provide recommendations drawing from extensive market and competitor experience.
• Finance DOA sign-off recommendation: Support bids requiring Finance DOA sign-off.
• Bid P&L and cash flow production: Generate bid profit and loss statements along with cash flow analyses for complex Major Outsource bids.
• Key role in F2F customer negotiations: Lead on financial terms and conditions during face-to-face customer negotiations.
• Leadership in capability extension and best practices: Lead initiatives to extend team capabilities and promote best practices within the Bid team.
• Driving commercial awareness and behaviour: Foster commercial awareness and behaviour across the Enterprise.

You'll have the following skills & experience

• You will be able to communicate effectively with senior leaders and customers.
• Financial expertise and qualification: Preferably possess qualifications as a qualified accountant with a strong financial acumen. Security clearance might be necessary for specific sectors.
• Commercial strategy recommendations: Capable of advising on commercial strategies for bids using investment appraisal techniques, scenario and sensitivity modelling, and suggesting optimal win strategies. Proficient in risk mitigation and acceptance concerning bid financial models.
• Assurance in pricing: Ensure accurate completion of intricate customer pricing sheets. Proficient in developing and managing bespoke and/or complex pricing structures independently.
• Bid team coordination and influence: Manage inputs from various departments within the bid team (Product, Technical, Service, Group Finance, HR, etc.) and influence commercial deal strategy.
