We are recruiting for an authority based in Birmingham who deliver a number of specialised services across the region.Your new role
Our client are looking for some interim financial accounting support to assist their Technical Accounting team with year-end preparation and subsequent audit queries.
Senior Financial Accountant - working within the Accounting team to assist with year end and external audit. You will be working alongside two other Lead Financial Accountants in the Financial Accounting team. Assisting in year-end/audit and year end accountants' preparation work

• Yearend work:
• Impairment review and other fixed asset (PPE) work
• Other year-end preparation work as required
• Leading some of the audit sample work alongside other members of the Financial Accounting team

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will be a fully qualified accountant.
Experience in a local government setting would be preferable, but the client is open to other public sector backgrounds - emergency services, housing etc.
Must have significant year-end / close down preparation experience
Ability to work on queries from auditors and answer those well
Good communication skills
Work well in a team to deliver a goal
Communication with others in the team on progress
What you'll get in return
Flexible working options are available. Ideally, 1 day per week in the office in Birmingham. 4 days WFH
