Senior Financial Accountant

Greenwell Gleeson are recruiting for an exciting opportunity working for a successful, high turnover business based in Wolverhampton to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant. This is a genuine progressive opportunity to become no.2 to the Finance Director in 12-18 months time. The role offers a great salary and benefits package.

The Senior Financial Accountant's role is to provide multi-disciplined support to the Finance Department. The role will predominantly focus on the technical aspects of accounting for projects, including contract statements, journal entries and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Reconciliation of Project Balance Sheet accounts

• Business partnering with the wider business for project matters (Contract Admin, Programme Management, Engineering, Operations Management etc.)

• Support audit requirements - internal & external

• Provide meaningful data analysis - Including Sales & Margin Variance analysis at a project level

• Utilising information and knowledge from the sales & margin process to update forecasting models for business activity

• Play an active role in business transformation activities related to Integrated Business Planning

• Engagement with the Group Finance Team where required - including timely resolution of queries and reporting requirements

• Seek to make improvements to processes and implement lean initiatives both within Finance and the wider business

• Act as delegate for the Reporting Manager and Finance Director

Desired Qualifications

• Previous experience working within accounting & finance - either in practice or industry - Essential

• Experience and appreciation for compliance processes, including audit and internal controls - Essential

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Essential

• Recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA or ACCA) - Essential

• Proficient in use of excel and previous experience with data analytics - Essential

• Knowledge or experience of ERP systems, ideally SAP - Desirable

• Ability to work to strict deadlines and under pressure - Essential
