Hays Senior Finance are supporting a leading business in the Worcestershire area with the recruitment of a Senior Management Accountant on a permanent basis.
Our client is a well-established provider of recruitment and training solutions to the aviation sector and is recognised on a global scale with operations spanning the UK, Germany, Spain and Switzerland.
Your new role
Reporting into the Financial Controller and working as part of a friendly, close-knit team, you will be responsible for leading the month-end process for two of their subsidiary companies whilst playing a key role in the development of their finance and payroll systems.
Main duties:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and regular sales/gross margin reports
• Production of budgets, forecasts, cashflows and statutory accounts
• Communication of business performance and investigation of results to Senior Management
• Provide insightful analysis to assist in business decision-making
• Understand and apply multi-currency discipline to transactions/reconciliations/reporting
• Manage the process of monitoring systems and process compliance across the business
• Support and lead elements of the implementation of new payroll and finance systems
• Help develop and maintain financial procedures and processes
• Support across treasury, forex management and tax positions
• Develop and support junior team members when required

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified or part-qualified Accountant actively studying towards your qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Experience of preparing monthly management accounts with supporting analysis
• Strong systems knowledge - experience of testing and implementing new accounting software highly desirable
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter with a keen willingness to learn and take ownership of tasks
• Advanced Excel skills and proficient with finance/payroll systems such as SAP, Exchequer and Abacus
