Senior Bookkeeper

Senior Bookkeeper required. My client is a very well-established accountancy firm based in Colchester with offices all over the UK. Boasting nearly a century since they were established, my client has a wealth of experience and work with a wide range of clients across a number of different industries.

Due to recent growth, they are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper who will provide day to day bookkeeping and VAT support to a variety of clients to join their welcoming and friendly team. Bookkeeping:

• Enter correct data into financial records and recognise/correct errors
• Process payments, invoices, income and receipts while entering data into accounting softwares
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for clients
• Prepare reconciliations across all control accounts to assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements
• Handle general adhoc duties as and when they are required

VAT:

• Work as part of a team to ensure all VAT returns are completed and filed
• Prepare quarterly, monthly and annual VAT reconciliations
• Calculate flat rate, partial exemption, global accounting scheme and group VAT returns

• Previous experience working in an accountancy practice is essential
• Experience with Microsoft Office and accounting software such as; Xero, Quickbooks and Free Agent
• A highly organised individual who is able to multi-task and manage/prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• £25,000-£35,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
