Job description

Our client is a highly successful and expanding family manufacturing business. Due to ongoing growth they urgently require an Accounts Manager to take responsibility for a wide range of functions with the Finance Department. The successful candidate will be able to work closely with their External Accountant and also manage a small team.

THE ROLE

· As Accounts Manager you will assume responsibility for co-ordinating the day to day operations of the business, specifically the administration, and finance functions and to ensure that effective support is provided to the entire management team.

· Manage the company’s finance and accounting functions including payroll

· Liaise with Government bodies and banks etc with regard to all legislative returns and communications (both financial and statistical).

· Ensure the company’s procedure in wages and salaries is effective and that all necessary records are maintained and all reports are forwarded to legislative body as required.

· Provide an effective Credit Control service to the company.

· Ensure good management of Cash flow.

· With the Managing Director, review and improve company procedures and systems and develop more effective approaches to management information gathering.

· Prompt analysis and resolution of supplier queries including the timely reconciliation of supplier statements;

· Management of the weekly/ monthly payment run, using manual and electronic payment systems as required; including but not limited to, production of cheques, remittances, notifications of invoices on query and postage to suppliers;

· Maintenance of Accounts Payable on the accounts system

· Receive incoming cash, cheque or BACS and process on to the system;

· Efficiently administer the collection of finances and the resolution of account queries, raising sales invoices and issuing credit notes;

· Day to day management of the front office.

THE PERSON

· Qualified Accounts Technician or a Part-Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience within industry

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

· Enjoys dealing with people and attending and contributing to weekly management meetings

· Excellent IT skills and Sage proficient

· Able to manage and motivate a small team

· Able to work closely with external Accountant to enable the smooth running of the Finance Function

· Enjoys working in a busy, varied environment

· Looking for a long term career with a growing company with the ability to take on extra responsibility as the role expands in the future

· Interested in continuous improvement and development of systems and processes.

SALARY

A Salary up To £40k (negotiable) will be on offer to the successful candidate.
