Our client is a large multi-national business with a long-established reputation in the logistics industry. They provide a range of logistics, freight forwarding and supply chain services to customers in the drinks and associated industries.
They are now looking for a seasoned sales professional from the logistics or supply chain world to join their team with a remit covering new business and account management focused on the southern half of England.
Key Responsibilities:
- To develop and grow new business opportunities within a defined target customer market. Some of these will be new accounts, some will be lapsed accounts that need re-engagement.
- Foster relationships with key decision makers in prospect businesses, proposing solutions to their logistics needs.
- Manage a portfolio of existing accounts and look for opportunities to grow spend through relationship development.
- Collaborate with internal teams especially inside sales to develop a joined up approach to capitalising on all commercial opportunities.
- Stay close the customer market to ensure that you are the first port of call when it comes to pitching logistics and freight forwarding solutions.
- Report on sales funnel and pipeline activities using the CRM.
- Employ a strategic mindset to sales development and account growth.
Person Specification:
- Possess a steady career history and a track record of success in Business Development within the logistics and freight forwarding industry.
- Hold a network of contacts that will facilitate your approaches to market.
- Able to nurture and grow accounts once you have them on board to ensure long term relationships develop and account value growth.
- Excellent sales disciplines, communication skills and CRM reporting.
- Results-orientated with the resilience to keep going to achieve targets and goals.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to analyse market trends and develop effective prospecting tactics.
