Talent-UK are recruiting on behalf of their client for a full time permanent Senior Business Development Manager, the hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm - this role must be available to be in the office monthly and flexible to travel across the UK to visit potential clients. The package on offer comes with a company car.

The role
This role is responsible for driving business growth, and duties vary on a day-to-day basis. Typical responsibilities include creating development plans, identifying market opportunities, and executing against these identified opportunities to increase our company sales.

Role Objectives:
As Business Development Manager, the primary role is to establish & lead all new business opportunities, including B2B and business to larger consumer groups, including but not restricted to:-

- Care homes, Independent living centres, Luxury Retirement Villages/Groups, Sheltered Housing Units and Associations, Women’s Institute, and the Townswomen’s Guild (additional targets can later be identified and added to the above list).
Generating targeted additional revenue for the business this role will act as an ambassador for the brand by seeking to create relationships & connections with businesses, consumer groups, communities and associations, with a view to building a future pipeline of new customer orders and leads.

As this is an entirely new role, this person will be expected to implement new ways of working and processes in a bid to successfully establish this function across the business.

Reporting directly into the Marketing Director, the role will:-

- Develop a growth strategy with input from the Marketing Director and other senior stakeholders to achieve business objectives and KPI’s as set out by the line Manager.

- Work closely with internal key stakeholders to develop, agree and implement new business initiatives and supporting sales materials.

- Identify and engage with all relevant opportunities within the B2B and larger consumer group sectors to maximise new leads.

- Pitch and present in a consultative professional manner to qualified leads, working with other functions, when and where required.

- Create, prepare and deliver status reports covering both new business opportunities and current performance against an agreed set of KPI’s.

- Spend time across our 54 showrooms (in person or via Teams) to understand the different trends (fabric, furniture style and local trends). This will help both convert leads into sales and further strengthen the relationship with the retail teams.

Experience:

Qualified and successful experience selling and promoting - preferably furniture to care homes/settings - ESSENTIAL.

Minimum 10 to 15 years’ Experience - ESSENTIAL

A degree or experience gained in a similar role are crucial, however experience in a Sales and/or a Commercial Management/Account Management role would be considered.
