Job description

We are looking for 5 dynamic Senior Business Support Officers to help us with the high-level support required for Contact Swindon, which is the new Integrated Front Door for parents, partners and agencies to access support, advice, and if necessary, further activity across the Early Intervention Partnership.

Being involved at this stage will mean you are part of the exciting transformation that is taking place and will help parents and professionals navigate our early intervention systems to find the right help and support at the right time for them.

Your next Role

We will be offering 5 x Senior Business Support Officers an in-depth training package to build on their existing experience and knowledge. You will be the first point of contact for many professionals and families and play a key role in professionals understanding when a child and their family requires intensive or statutory support.

You will be able to articulate yourself well, be compassionate and be confident in providing clear advice and support on the appropriate actions.

There are many key elements to this role and whilst administration, call taking and computer work will be essential, your advice and support will help to reduce the need for face to face support on a lot of occasions, providing families with the tools to empower them to solve their questions and situations by signposting to universal services that are available to them.

Swindon are also launching Locality Panels to provide a co-ordinated response in a ‘whole family’ approach keeping the child at the centre of the conversations. The Senior Business Support Officer will provide a key role in administering the panels, ensuring attendees have the right information and the outcomes are recorded and uploaded securely.

The right person for one of the Senior Business Support Officer roles would be an exceptional Business Support Officer and have an interest in supporting and empowering young people and families and be driven to improving access to services to support and protect children.

You will have experience of working in a customer focused environment, working to timescales, gathering information, maintaining accurate records and working closely with others. Whilst experience in providing advice and information in a children’s services environment is preferable, we will provide a full training package and ensure the right person is fully equipped to take on this important role. It is essential that you are able to navigate computer systems.

If you believe you have the skills, knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to deliver in this exciting role and want to help shape the future our service for children that is already striving to be the best, we want to hear from you.

You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).

Your next package

Please see our Rewards and Benefits offer for more details.

As an employee, you will receive a diverse and exciting environment in which to work, encouraging creativity and innovation whilst recognising the need to support ongoing personal development and a flexible work life balance.

For Swindon to thrive in the future, we need to lay the foundations now. It’s why our regeneration and transformation programmes are already underway. So, you’ll be joining us at an exciting time on our journey. We’ll look to you to share your knowledge, influence decisions and drive real, positive change. With your contributions, we’ll achieve our vision of a prosperous, re-vitalised Swindon together. And you’ll be proud to say it was made better with you.

Please see our Vision and Values page for more details.
