Job description
My client is the world’s leading subsea technology and solutions provider, based in Winnersh they have a requirement for a Senior Buyer to join their team on a permanent staff basis.
What will you be doing?
Review project requirements via SAP system and prioritise activities
Prepair RFQ and negotiate best price & delivery with variety of approved suppliers
To expedite Supplier and Project disciplines on all outstanding action points / queries
To prepare and co-ordinate all relevant transport and shipping activities
To keep the Manager and responsible project members aware of problems external and internal with regards to vendors and orders
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to co-ordinate delivery schedules, provide order information, schedule meetings and independently resolve invoice discrepancies
Issue Change Order Request variations in respect of engineering changes and manage and monitor budget and schedule as require
To report and advise Manager on a weekly basis
We think you should have:
Full working knowledge of SAP procurement systems
Advanced negotiation skills. Negotiating at all levels
Practical working knowledge of administering high value purchased commitments
Understanding of technical drawings and specifications
Ability to communicate clearly to all stakeholders
Ability to troubleshoot multiple scenarios at the same time
Good team member; capacity to gain the confidence and co-operation of colleagues and client
Willingness to understand their operating problems and contribute to constructive solutions
