Senior Buyer - East Midlands - £55,000

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing a varied selection of global supply partners to design, develop and implement category strategies and sourcing initiatives for direct components.

This role is perfect for someone wanting to develop their leadership skills and step up in management.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading purchasing and procurement strategies for direct commodities in an automotive environment
• Manage a small team of buyers. developing and mentoring them
• Building effective stakeholder relationships, ensuring a high service level in terms of quotations, quality compliance and communication.
• Identifying savings opportunities through tenders, negotiations and efficiencies.
• Utilising multiple applications and systems to deliver accurate metrics, reporting and data.

You will need:

• Qualified to degree standard in a relevant qualification or equivalent practical attainment with demonstrated experience in Procurement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Experience of leading a team, either directly or indirectly
• Must be high self-motivated, customer-centric with strong communication skills.
• Sourcing and negotiation experience and supplier relationship management would be desirable.
