Our client, a well know Electrical Distribution company based in Sunderland is currently looking to appoint an experienced Buyer to join their established team on a 1 year fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for procurement events for goods and service contracts.
This position is a 1 year fixed term contract, with a salary that is flexible dependant on experience.
The ideal candidate will have a experience of working in construction, infrastructure or engineering industries , as this role will require procuring similar work / services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to procurement strategies.
- Procurement lead for allocated tender events.
- Work with the business to generate the tender documents including scope, specification, evaluation criteria and form of contract.
- Manage the PQQ and ITT evaluations with internal stakeholders.
- Lead on tender clarification meetings and question responses.
- Assess the value and affordability of tender submissions.
- Prepare an award proposal based on the outcome of the tender process.
- Work with the supplier and the business to award and execute tendered contracts.
- Advanced reporting and data analysis
Skills/Main Competencies:
- Experience of sourcing and other procurement activities for works / services
- Ability to analyse and present data to inform sourcing / contract decisions
- Ability to manage of team of internal stakeholders as part of the tender process
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced reporting and data analysis
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Advanced knowledge of relevant contract law
Qualifications:
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) and/or MCIPS.
Desirable Experience:
- Electronic sourcing.
- Regulated procurement.
- Utilities based industry procurement.
- Regulated procurement experience would be advantageous but not essential, as the basics can be picked up via on the job training.
The company offer a hybrid working policy where you are able to work remotely for 2 out of the 5 days. Free parking on site is available and you will be required to travel to various sites within the company. Due to this having you own transport is a requirement of the role.
