Senior Buyer

Who are we? We have been proudly serving the catering trade within Kent, Surrey, and East Sussex from our base in Sittingbourne, Kent since 2003. As an independent foodservice wholesaler, we have built a reputation as a trusted and reliable partner for our customers, supplying a diverse and growing range of high-quality products and ingredients from local to national suppliers. The role:

• The Senior Buyer is responsible for business cost saving initiatives, directly supporting the senior management team and professionally challenging costs within the business to find cost savings and efficiencies across multiple buying categories.
• As stated at the outset, a key team orientated player - liaising closely with internal and external stakeholders, e.g. Operations, our Sales teams and Customers, in a professional manner, demonstrating excellence in organisational skills, communications, and efficiency.
• Working alongside multiple departments across the business to understand the pressures and deadlines on each department and ensure those constraints are understood in performance of Buying duties.

What are we looking for in you?

• A proven track record of excellence in Buying/Procurement and ideally with that experience coming from within the hospitality/food industry or food related sectors where you have worked with multiple categories.
• Experienced in fast paced Procurement.
• A CIPS (or similar) Qualification is desirable, as is experience leading tender processes.
• Definitely a hands-on team player, with strong negotiation, admin, communication and organisation skills.
