Rate £45 - £60 per hour (Umbrella inside of IR35)
The role is an Asset Management control and instrumentation engineer working within the UK Engineering department to help set up, develop, and implement an Asset Management programme to help the company improve the way they manage their existing enrichment and infrastructure assets.
The role is help deliver safe, legally compliant, reliable, and efficient operational performance over the lifetime of the assets. You will ensure compliance with all relevant statutory regulatory and insurance obligations and any other activities which achieve good safety performance, asset technical integrity, environmental compliance, and quality.
Your duties and responsibilities
- You will help deliver safe, legally compliant, reliable, and efficient operational performance over the lifetime of the assets.
- You will ensure compliance with all relevant statutory regulatory and insurance obligations and any other activities which achieve good safety performance, asset technical integrity, environmental compliance and quality.
- You will measure the effectiveness of the existing framework and implementing a new Asset Management system in line with ISO 55000 within enrichment to reduce engineering risk on the site and ensure continual improvement of managing asset risk.
- This is an assurance role to ensure asset integrity is maintained in order to meet requirements to ensure process safety, HSE and ONR compliance.
- The candidate will be expected to work cross functionally across a number of operations, engineering and maintenance teams, must be self-motivated and able to operate at a strategic and closer detail level.
The role holder will be expected to preferably demonstrate skills and experience in the following areas
- Operational experience in a plant engineering environment working closely alongside maintenance and operations.
- Familiarity with Asset Management processes and systems
- Implementation of engineering risk based management systems and maintenance processes.
- Experience of working with CMMS systems and preventative maintenance schedules ideally SAP.
- Understanding of Nuclear/COMAH safety cases and their statutory requirements and associated implementation in to a CMMS maintenance system eg IEC61511 and IEC 61508.
- Familiarity with national and international standards
- Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of industry best practises and work to established standards and current legislation.
- Experience of the design or maintenance of hardwired logic protection and safety systems including functional safety experience.
- Knowledge of field instrumentation including temperature, pressure, level and flow devices.
- Advantageous to have worked with obsolescence management, BOMS, material masters, spares criticality reviews.
- Familiarity with operational plant asset life plans.
- Good configuration control understanding including P&IDs, loop drawings, termination schedules and panel schematic experience
- Advantageous to understand reliability principles such as FMEA, RCM or Root cause analysis.
- Experience of Change Control principles in a regulated environment including both hardware and software system modifications.
You will need the following skills and experience
- Candidates must have experience working in a highly regulated environment such as, in the Nuclear Industry or on a COMAH regulated site.
- You must have a solid background in Control & Instrumentation engineering and the appetite to learn and develop.
- You must be able to work independently and as part of a team of mixed skills and abilities, within your own field of expertise.
- You must have effective communication skills in order to effectively work alongside others and be highly motivated with excellent problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
- You must have experience working in a plant front line working environment, whilst ensuring safety and quality remain the guiding principles.
- You must be comfortable proactively engaging with a wide range of stakeholders in order to deliver optimal engineering solutions.
You will need the following qualifications
- You will have a degree within the discipline, and preferably be a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer and have a minimum of 5 years experience in an operational environment as a control and instrumentation engineer in a highly regulated industry. SC Clearance desirable not essential.
