SalaryHFG have partnered with a leading Lloyd's MGA, who are seeking a Reinsurance Senior Claims Adjuster to join their growing team.
This will be working within a reputable Claims team, with a focus on US Casualty, specifically APH.
Previous experience working with US Casualty Reinsurance Claims is essential and working within APH and Legacy is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Minimum 10 years reinsurance claims background in the London Market.
- Knowledge of US Legacy Liability highly desirable.
- Independently manage a diverse caseload, including complex and high-value claims, by analyzing crucial data and factual reports, determining appropriate reserves, directly negotiating settlements with Cedants, and confidently making and supporting decisions.
- Collaborate with Cedants, Brokers, Co-Reinsurers, and Attorneys to handle and analyze reinsurance claim exposures.
- Take a proactive approach to claims management, exploring alternative methods to efficiently resolve Catalina's exposure when necessary.
- Possess a strong understanding of litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes, actively participating in all stages, such as discovery, depositions, and hearings.
- Create clear and concise reports, both written and verbal, for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with all policy obligations, prioritize fair treatment of customers, and uphold applicable conduct standards.
- Accomplish claims objectives and contribute to profitable growth by providing risk insights, information, and identifying emerging risks.
- If needed, engage and work closely with legal representation, handling all other cases internally.
- Conduct audits of Cedants and other parties as required, including due diligence processes.
- Offer technical guidance to junior team members regarding claims handling and strategy development, as well as Cedant management.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with actuarial, finance, and operations teams as needed.
