We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated doctor to join our team in the Paediatric Emergency Department at St Mary’s Hospital. This job is ideal for an experienced trainee who wishes to consolidate their confidence and competencies in the assessment and management of of acutely unwell or injured children. St Mary’s Hospital is part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, providing secondary and tertiary care to North West London. St Mary’s Hospital is the busiest Major Trauma Centre in London, and has a range of paediatric medical and surgical specialities, including PID, Haematology, Neurology, Allergy, Renal and PICU. It is one of the key trusts in the North London Paediatric Specialist Network, and an internationally respected academic and research unit. The department is staffed by dedicated paediatric nurses and led by a team of PEM consultants. Junior trainees come from both paediatric and Emergency Medicine backgrounds. This post is part of a senior training grade rota, consisting of ST6-8 paediatric, PEM grid and RCEM PEM subspecialty trainees. We work closely with our co-located UTC, and have strong links with both the paediatric and adult specialties. We are looking for an experienced doctor (ST5+ level).You must have had one year experience of working at a middle grade level in the UK (clinical attachments are not included in this).It would be ideal for a registrar who has had subspecialty training (RCPCH or RCEM) in PEM; however anyone who has had experience of working at registrar level in Paediatrics, or Emergency Medicine with minimum 6 months of paediatric experience, will be considered. The post is ideal for those who would like to gain more experience in Paediatric Emergency Medicine. We are looking for a doctor who has experience and interest in either Paediatrics and/or Emergency Medicine, and who wants to consolidate their skills, confidence and knowledge of the assessment and management of acutely unwell or injured children. The department has a wealth of expertise in many aspects of Paediatric Emergency Medicine, and in educational and quality improvement work. We will expect the successful candidate to undertake significant projects, focused on paediatric POCUS, in one or more of the following areas during their time with us: • Research projects in Paediatric POCUS
• Quality improvement and governance
