About the Team:
Lambeth Council's Campaigns and Communications team produce high quality communications on behalf of Lambeth Council across all its service areas. The team of 18 covers a wide range of campaigns and communications disciplines including design, print, press, social media, marketing and internal communications. The work is fast paced and varied and undertaken by a fun and enthusiastic team.
We operate on hybrid working model, providing employees greater flexibility and opportunity to work from home with a minimum two days a week in the office. Office working would be at our modern offices in the heart of the Brixton Town Centre, less than 5 minutes' walk from the Underground and Overground train stations.
About the Role:
This role is to lead the council’s communications and engagement activity in support of the council’s new homes programme. That includes leading on the communications planning to support the successful delivery of the new home programme as it delivers Lambeth’s next generation of genuinely affordable homes.
A key outcome is ensuring estate residents, our communities, staff, partners and other stakeholders are effectively communicated to, consulted and engaged in a way that supports the council’s communications and resident engagement principles.
The role will work across the Campaigns and Communications team on communications planning, media relations, digital communications, marketing and external affairs
To be considered for interview, your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence:
- Detailed understanding of housing development, regeneration, resident engagement and communications in sensitive environments.
- Detailed and up to date knowledge and understanding of relevant central and local government policy and processes for communications.
- Experience of commissioning communications projects and programmes of work from a range of providers, including complex contract negotiations.
- Substantial experience in developing and delivering communications strategies and plans for complex programmes of work
- Experience in some or all of the following: branding, marketing, digital, creative production and design.
- Extensive experience of engaging with residents and multiple stakeholders
- Educated to degree level and a relevant professional qualification e.g. CIPR, CMI
