Senior Consultant - Research And Insights

THE ROLE

We are looking to add an experienced researcher with campaigns experience to join our research team. This role will be at Senior Consultant level, and we are looking for an individual who will comfortably manage multi country research programmes, as well as someone who has experience using research to develop campaign strategies. Ideally, this candidate will be a campaign strategist as much as they are a research specialist.

Specifically, we need a candidate who can do the following:

• Understand how research is used to unlock innovative strategies to solve client problems;
• Design and scope mixed method research programmes based on client needs;
• Manage projects efficiently and to the highest quality;
• Personally deliver research, while managing and developing junior teams to deliver results;
• Unlock conclusions via mixed method analysis;
• Synthesise large data sets (including focus group transcripts, depth interview transcripts and survey data) to develop clear and actionable insights and recommendations for clients;
• Confidently tell a story through data and present these to senior stakeholders and clients;

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is someone who is an experienced qualitative researcher, but has experience of managing both quantitative and qualitative research projects. They will have a true passion for applying public opinion research to client problem solving.

This role also requires a candidate who excels in project management, with the ability to lead delivery of client work across a range of accounts, including in the infrastructure, transport and energy sectors.

We are specifically interested in candidates with a second European language and an understanding of European politics, but this is not a requirement and we can be flexible for the right person.

Role description:

• Lead the delivery of international and UK research-based strategy projects, often acting as the day to day point of contact for clients
• Promote excellence, efficiency, and personal development in the delivery of projects
• Identify opportunities for organic growth within existing clients
• Develop strong advisory relationships with clients
• Project manage more junior members to ensure timely delivery of quality worK

PERSON PROFILE

Key skills and attributes of the ideal candidate:

• Strong research background (5+ years’ experience)
• Have a passion for strategy, as well as research
• Have an interest in the world around them, specifically in climate and the energy transition
• Have an interest in the application of research to problem solving
• A demonstrable understanding of client objectives and how they can be supported through communications and research
• Experienced mixed method researcher with a leaning towards qualitative research.
• Experience in leading the delivery of quant and qual research projects for corporate clients
• Experience of managing internal and external resource in the delivery of research projects
• Excellent project management skills including budgets and timelines
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with attention to detail
• Track record of advising clients, using research to unlock client problems
• Willing to explore and develop new/unfamiliar research techniques
• Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders (internal and external)
