The Opportunity
An amazing opportunity has become available to have the chance of working alongside a leading engineering consultancy where you will be working alongside a team of skilled nuclear specialists. The need for you as a CS&A Engineer is to take responsibility for design development throughout the project design process.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- As a Senior Engineer, you will make up the body of the engineering department and are responsible for carrying out the day-to-day development of the design through the design process.
- The senior engineer is fundamentally a hands-on analysis and design-based role within the C&S department that generally includes interfacing with other engineering disciplines in the project design team.
- As a Senior Engineer, you will also have a shared managerial responsibility in respect of graduates, Apprentices and/or designers in the team as and when required to do so.
- You will be reporting directly to the Principal Engineer.
You will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities.
- Preparation of design documentation throughout the design process.
- Development of designs to satisfy technical specifications.
- Prepare supporting design calculations to substantiate design.
- Contribution to design reviews.
- Preparation of technical specifications.
- Preparation of risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Occupational skills and knowledge.
- A recognised engineering certificate such as HNC/HND/Degree.
- Safety cultures.
- You will have knowledge of the fundamentals of structures and foundations using reinforced concrete and structural steel.
- Knowledge and understanding of structural steel connections and connection types.
- Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position.
- You will have the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- A strong team player.
It s great if you also have the following:
- Nuclear experience or experience from within a highly regulated industry.
- A full UK driving license and willingness to travel with overnight stayovers occasionally.
- Ideally you will have experience of supervision.
