Senior Database Administrator

Senior DBA – £50,000 to £53,000 + Bonus - Remote

We have partnered with an organisation that are seeking to recruit for a Senior DBA to join the organisation’s team within a fast paced and energetic working environment. The Senior DBA will be integral for the business in forming part of the Database Administrator Team.

As Senior DBA, you will be responsible for the administration and management of the organisation database system. You will provide third level support and complete root cause analysis on database issues. The business currently database systems which are predominantly AWS RDS Aurora.

Requirements of the Senior DBA:

-            Experience monitoring databases in OCI and AWS

-            5+ years of experience in a DBA role covering MYSQL, PostgresSQL or Oracle.

-            Subject Matter Expert administrating cloud-based database solutions

-            Experience mentoring junior DBAs

-            Understanding of Database monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, CloudWatch, OEM and Foglight.

Responsibilities of the Senior DBA:

-            Promote best practices for new database being created by AWS.

-            Execute backup procedures to protect data

-            Act as subject matter expect for the business’s databases

-            Monitor database activity and adhere to regulations on compliance and security

-            Troubleshoot OCI and AWS database issues and resolve issues within SLAs
