Senior Design Engineer

Our client, a leading Engineering company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to further develop their career in a renowned and innovative organisation.

Salary: £50K - £55K

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading new product development projects, ensuring adherence to the approved stage gate process. Your exceptional project management skills will be utilised to plan, allocate, and manage all project tasks, ensuring completion within agreed timescales.

Responsibilities:

• Lead new product development projects in line with the approved stage gate process
• Plan, allocate, and manage all project tasks to ensure completion within the agreed timescales
• Produce and supervise the production of all project technical drawings, using 3D CAD modelling and 2D drawings
• Prototype designs and manage the preparation of test samples
• Generate test plans to validate the product; coordinate all tests to ensure the product design satisfies the relevant standards
• Analyse test results and make conclusions to decide on the next steps
• Produce and maintain all project documentation including test records, test reports, and design documentation in a manner described in the QA procedures

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience in leading new product development projects within the Engineering industry
• Proficient in 3D CAD modelling and 2D drawings
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Thorough understanding of QA procedures and documentation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Good communication and teamwork skills
