Senior Design Lead

Salary: Grade A - £52,737 (National Framework) or £58,139 (London Framework – if you are London office-based or home-based and live within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £553 per annum for those working from home.

Contracted Hours: Full-time 37 hours per week or compressed hours/job share will also be considered

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Home-based with regular meetings in London, Newcastle, or Leeds offices

What you will bring…

To be considered as a Senior Design Lead, you will need:

- Experience designing services to turn into functioning services
- Experience of accessibility and usability as applied to online portals, CRM applications, websites and business to business or regulatory environment
- Experience of helping teams to embed user-centred service design and delivery practices
- Experience of people and performance management, and staff development
- Experience of working within an Agile environment
- Experience of helping teams adopt a wide range of user research methods, analysis and synthesis techniques and approaches to presenting and sharing findings
- A degree (or equivalent)

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Design Lead, you will lead the design work for the Product and Service Design team.

You will design services that assist internal users, health and social care providers, and other bodies. They will be clear, simple and consistent systems which promote digital adoption, reducing inefficient and error-prone manual handling and increasing data conversion into insight.

Managing the service and interaction designers, you will direct user researchers and content designers working on services and products.

Additionally, you will:

- Recruit and line manage the Interaction and Service Designers
- Develop and maintain service blueprints
- Lead in consistent service design and interaction design
- Turn designs into user stories and actions
- Support recruitment and direct the work of Content Designers and User Researchers
