Main Responsibilities
- Implement and manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate software build, test, and deployment processes to support rapid and reliable releases.
- Collaborate with platform / system teams who are using tools like Bicep and Ansible to automate the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure components, ensuring consistency and reliability across environments.
- Contribute to the adoption of modern software delivery practices using cloud native technologies to manage and scale applications efficiently.
- Advocate best practices for code branching, merging, and repository management.
- Design and implement observability capabilities including robust monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions enabling the tracking of system performance, detection of issues, and proactive troubleshooting.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, identifying bottlenecks and collaborating with developers to resolve issues.
- Coordinate and manage the technical aspects of software releases, post-release monitoring, and documentation updates.
- Ensure appropriate backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies are in place to ensure business continuity and high availability of applications and services.
- Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Mentoring and support of other team members.

- Recent strong experience in DevOps practices, including developing CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure-as-code, preferably in the banking or financial services sector.
- Proficient in the use of scripting and programming languages (e.g. Bash, Python, PowerShell) for automation.
- Significant exposure to CI/CD pipeline tooling (e.g. TeamCity, Azure DevOps, Jenkins etc).
- Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Experience working with containerisation, orchestration and serverless technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Functions).
- Experience supporting java processes in a Linux environment.
- Detailed knowledge of and experience using cloud platforms and services (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience in the use management of version control systems (e.g. Git) and collaboration tools.
- Good understanding of networking concepts and security practices in cloud environments.
