Services Design Associates Limited (SDA) is a well-established, independent, Building Services engineering consultancy practice, located in the city of Sheffield. The practice was formed in 1988 to provide a design and advisory service to both the private and public sectors and employs a team of creative enthusiastic engineers. We pride ourselves on providing innovative solutions to complex engineering and design challenges for buildings.
Irrespective of the size or complexity of a project, we provide a full range of M&E, sustainability, digital and surveying services, bringing buildings to life and ensuring that they perform in operation as well as they look.

The Role
As a Senior ElectricalDesign Engineer you will be managing a small team, of engineers delivering a range of projects from small sites through to multi-million-pound schemes, across a wide variety of sectors, including healthcare, residential, education and commercial. Whilst representing SDA internally and externally you will also be responsible for procuring work, managing delivery of projects and close liaison with clients and contractors. You will be responsible for the performance and development of your team, providing guidance, training, motivation and directional guidance.
Other elements of the role consist of:-
1. Able to monitor budgets and control expenditure to meet financial targets for own areas.
2. Use the latest computer software.
3. Communicating directly with project teams, clients or stakeholders, and attend collaborative meetings.
4. Taking responsibility for project coordination with other disciplines and professionals.
What we are looking for
Ideally a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in engineering design and have relevant experience of working within the Building Services Industry.
Ideally have a HND, Degree or Masters in Building Services.
Member of a professional institution
Previous experience in a similar industry is an essential.
An understanding of CAD or similar modelling software.
Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
A friendly, ambitious and confident individual with a flexible and resilient approach.
