There's an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join an international company who focus on, design, manufacturing and integrating specialist computing platforms and complex systems across the defence, energy, transport and automation sectors to name a few.
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will report into the Product Manager and will be responsible for creating conceptual designs for complex low to medium voltage DC & AC electrical systems.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to
- Design and develop electrical systems in support of complex design to order projects
- Create system schematics, circuit diagrams, cable assemblies, wiring lists and electrical bill of materials, including specifying wires, cables and connectors and electrical devices
- Complete conceptual Electrical Design using Solidworks Electrical, prototype build and design verification testing as required
- Responsible for electrical and electronic part selection taking into consideration obsolescence, availability and cost
- Ensure designs and products meet codes of practice and recognised standards applicable to the company and/or the customer
- Work collaboratively with the engineering teams and production to document, build and verify prototype parts and when needed train build operators
- Make sure product can be made reliably and will perform consistently in the specified operating environments
Experiences required
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 8+ years as an Electrical Design Engineer
- Experience of designing LV/MV AC and DC systems to a recognised safety standard
- Experience designing for defence applications and specifying military grade connectors & components
