Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Senior Electrical Design Engineerrequired. Our client is a well establsihed building services consultancy based in London, looking for an Senior Electrical Design Engineer due to the growth of the business.
Successful candidates will excel in engineering design and must be comfortable leading projects from inception to completion, working with minimal supervision. They will also assist in planning and managing an appropriate resource to deliver projects.

They will prepare conceptual designs of HV and LV electrical systems, lighting, fire alarms etc and be responsible for equipment selection and calculations and assist with the preparation of the client brief.

The role also requires that they are confident giving technical presentations to the professional team as well as managing site coordination meetings with contractors.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer Position Overview

• Design safe, economical and reliable electrical systems to meet the contractual scope of work and comply with the applicable standards and regulations.
• Develop the preparation of clear and concise drawings, specifications and product schedules to define electrical systems.
• Coordinate Electrical Design with other disciplines (e.g. architectural, structural, mechanical & public health) to minimise conflicts and avoid costly revisions.
• Check tender submissions, drawings and technical submittals to ensure quality of products and equipment are in accordance with design.
• Undertake site visits and monitor progress against the design.
• Assist subcontractors to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications and resolve problems during construction.
• Report any feedback or issues concerning either projects or team to the directors.
• Build relationships and contacts with potential sources of new work, maintain existing relationships.
• Ensure completion of all risk assessment documentation in a timely manner.
• Coordinate junior staff internally, providing mentoring and leadership and help to identify opportunities for junior staff to develop.
• Demonstrate a good understanding of BSRIA BG6 and RIBA stages, Part L, BREEAM and renewable technologies.
• Assist with preparation of fee proposals.
• Communicate clearly and confidentially with clients.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer Position Requirements

• 4+ Years experience in a similar role
• Competent with Trimble (formerly Amtech) or Cymap, DIALux or similar.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience advantageous.
• Attained or working towards chartership

Senior Electrical Design Engineer Position Remuneration

• Salary: £40,000- £55,000 potentially flexible depending on experience
• Working hours: 9am - 5:30pm
• Holiday Package: 25 days + 8BH
