Salary: GBP53,181 - GBP59,199 per annum Hours: Full time

_We have an exciting opportunity for an electrical/electronics engineer to join our Electrical and Electronics Support Group at the ISIS Pulsed Neutron and Muon facility, based at the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire. The post holder will lead a team of engineers working on electronic and electrical projects that are vital for the experimental programme at ISIS. _
About the role
As the Section leader, you would provide technical and managerial leadership for all the Group's work activities. You would plan, prioritize, and control the workflow of all projects, and you would ensure that all work carried out by the section adheres to the principles of good project management.
In addition, the role would allow you to continue to develop your own technical skills by taking a hands-on lead in your own project work.
About you
You will either be qualified to degree level in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or equally you could offer significant experience in the field of electrical/electronic engineering.
You will have previous experience in the management and leadership of a technical team.
You will be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the principles of good project and people management and highlight personal successes in this area. You will also be able to describe significant and individual technical contributions you have made in your project work in the field of electrical/electronic engineering.
You will possess an enthusiasm to see projects through from the initiation phase to delivery and be keen to work with customers and stakeholders to understand their requirements, desired outcomes, and their expectations.

ISIS is a high energy proton synchrotron used for science and engineering research. ISIS employs a suite of beam instruments to carry out high precision measurements on samples ranging from simple and complex compounds to new alloys, to engineering structures to biological samples and pharmaceuticals.
The experiments carried out at ISIS rely on a range of specialist electrical and electronic systems to achieve high quality and reliable scientific data. Such systems are the responsibility of the Project Development Section to deliver.
