This role will be primarily based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Senior Energy and Sustainability Manager. University Hospital’s Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust have launched their Sustainable Development Strategy (2020-2025). The strategy commits us to a carbon neutrality target of 2030, improving air quality and reducing our use of single use plastics. These targets are challenging but show our commitment to working with partners to deliver Bristol’s One City Plan and the vision for a “Fair, healthy and sustainable city”.
As theSeniorEnergy and Sustainability Manager, you will work to deliver the Trust’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2030, Energy and water management, energy purchasing, energy auditing, business case development and line management responsibilities.
No day will be the same, but typically you will:-
• Lead sustainability behaviour change Trust wide engaging staff to participate in Greener Together and other sustainability initiatives
• Be responsible for producing monthly and annual reporting required for all sustainable development areas.
• Have responsibility for the regular and systematic collection and recording of Energy and water consumption data, identifying and taking appropriate action to minimise any waste.
• Lead on the development and delivery of the Trust’s carbon neutral workstream to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
• Development and implementation of Trust wide Environmental Management System.
The ideal candidate will:-
• Have a qualification in relevant discipline to undergraduate degree level or equivalent work experience
• Experience of promoting sustainability in a large organisation.
• Practical experience of carrying out environmental and energy audits and surveys
• Have experience of conducting energy, building or plant audits
