A unique opportunity at an industry-leading SME Consultancy who have an opening for the position ofSenior Engineering Geologist Quarrying and Mining. This role is based in Telford.
Overview
Our client provide a wide range of geological and geotechnical services to the civil, mining and quarrying industries, with their experienced and skilled staff delivering practical and cost effective solutions to multi-national and independent operators and authorities throughout the world.
You will be joining their Shropshire office as Senior Engineering Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer to provide a wide range of geological and geotechnical support to the business including quarry planning and design, Mineral Reserves and Resource assessments.
You will assist in the delivery of Geotechnical input to projects, and you will also be required to provide technical guidance and support to less experienced junior engineers and technicians. There will also be opportunities for a wider degree of responsibility and role within the Geotechnical team aimed at developing your career as a Geotechnical specialist.
Requirements
- Demonstratable relevant industry background - minimum 6 years
- Have attained chartership with an appropriate professional body
- BEng or MEng degree in a Geology related subject Geology, Engineering Geology, or a relevant earth science
- Sound working knowledge of Digital terrain modelling software, ideally LSS
- Good understanding of legislation and regulations in relation to UK quarrying industry
- Able to develop robust, cost-effective designs and assessment using the most up-to-date practices
- Good interpersonal skills and being a team player
- Proven ability & confident with report writing and presentation skills
- Flexibility to travel for work. Comfortable with extended stays away from your home location
- A full UK driving licence
