What it's like to work here Reporting to the Head of Rural Surveying and Estate Management, you will be part of a very busy and highly professional team consisting of Asset Managers, Estate Managers, Rural Surveyors, Building Surveyors and Supervisors, Lettings staff and Estate Management Officers. The team work together to support the management of our let estate assets that, together with the relationships we have with our tenants, underpin our ~£50m national rental income and which is essential to the delivery of our conservation work. The role offers you an interesting variety of work in amazing locations with no two days being the same. In addition to supporting day-to-day operations, you’ll have the chance to deliver a variety of projects, offering your advice to wide parts of the organisation. What you'll be doing Working across the Trust’s national portfolio you will have significant input into a range of complex Estate Management related matters. You will help to shape national policy and guidance as well as support on identifying mechanisms to generate new income streams from opportunities presented through Biodiversity Net Gain as well as identifying ways to add value to our Investment Property Portfolio. In addition it is expected that you will lead on complex negotiations and help make a real and lasting difference to the long-term environmental sustainability of our land, and the commercial and environmental success of the Trust’s cause.

We need you to deliver the visionary management approach these estates deserve and make a real difference to long-term commercial success, all in order to support the Trust’s cause: looking after special places for everyone, for ever.
As well as your immediate team, you’ll have support to help you from our property leadership teams, countryside specialists, regional and national specialists, as well as our tenants and external stakeholders.
Who we're looking for •qualified Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor •an innovative approach to estate management and the ability to spot opportunities or creative solutions •first class technical knowledge of residential, commercial and agricultural tenancies as well as broader land management •excellent negotiation skills with the ability to adapt your negotiating style depending on the situation •the ability to foster a strong relationship with tenants and stakeholders, providing professional business partnering and the ability to engage with a variety of audiences •a high level of financial acumen and strong experience of managing large budgets •strong people management skills with experience of staff development and performance management •the ability to analyse data to recognise trends and understand strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats on the estate •strong project management skills, including experience of managing large projects The package
