Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the estimation efforts for housing refurbishment projects, from initial assessment to final cost analysis, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather project requirements and develop detailed cost estimates.
- Conduct thorough site inspections and assessments to identify project scope, materials needed, and potential challenges.
- Utilise industry knowledge and market trends to source cost-effective materials and labour, maximising project value while adhering to budget constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and presentations, highlighting cost breakdowns and value-added services to prospective clients.
- Mentor and support junior estimators, sharing expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team.
Profile
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in estimation within the housing refurbishment or construction industry, with a focus on residential projects.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools, such as Xactimate, PlanSwift, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to housing refurbishment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering accurate and timely estimates, even in fast-paced environments.
