Job Description

This role primarily focuses on business partnering with the product team to support decisions around stock, trading and buying initiatives. You will be involved in challenging the output and analysing variances to last year and the latest forecast, as well as reporting on key metrics and financial performance. You will also look at the full end to end P&L for different cuts of data to provide insightful information to Commercial teams on Product and Brand profitability.
Being able to model commercial propositions and provide ad hoc analysis on business requests on short notice is part of the fun. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a highly reactive trade environment, has a strong attention to detail and who is able to effectively manage a group of senior stakeholders.
Things that you will be involved in:
- Acting as key business partner to the product team, providing financial support for a number of business led projects.
- Reviewing performance and profitability by brand/department/product type with the business.
- Reviewing and challenging the company WSSI (intake, stock, sales and returns).
- Understanding of margin, intake, and stock from a commercial finance perspective.
- Working closely with the business to forecast and track accurately.
- Adding value to financial performance through developing and monitoring key performance indicators.
- Tracking and challenging the business on any tasks/initiatives to support the business to deliver on profit targets.
- Liaising with other Finance teams, to ensure a collaborative approach towards business planning and forecasting.
- Supporting our culture by driving Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies.
Qualifications
We’d love to meet, someone with…
- An accounting qualification (preferably CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
- Business partnering experience.
- Enjoys working in a fast pace, reactive environment.
- A proven ability to plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines.
- A strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Advanced skills in Excel.
- A high standard of accuracy with financial and statistical data.
- An ability to organise own work and to take initiative.
- An ability to determine insightful observations from detail for management attention.
- Commercial awareness.
- Good communication/ interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Pro-activeness.
