Salary: £47,500 plus car allowance £5,800

Hours: 37.5, permanent

About the role

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager for Housing, New Developments & Projects, the successful candidate will support the organisation in providing competent Fire Safety advice. The role is to support the development and maintenance of a clear, consistent, compliant, and proportionate approach to Fire Safety management on a tactical and operational level to Anchor

The role will be key to helping to ensuring that Anchor meet both statutory and non-statutory Fire Safety management duties in relation to Fire and Building Safety legislation together with associated Building Regulations.

Developing and supporting a team of Fire Safety Advisors, a key role is to quality assure (QA) fire risk assessments are suitable and sufficient. Fire risk assessments will also be conducted as required as will Fire Safety related training and development to support operational colleagues achieve excellent levels of compliance.

The role will ensure legislative compliance is achieved and organisationally defined, and where appropriate, sector best practice is followed. Be responsible for ensuring suitable and sufficient training is provided to the wider team.

Implementation through strong communication and comprehensive engagement with internal, and where appropriate external (e.g., enforcing authorities), stakeholders and customers will be necessary to ensure effective compliance.

To assist in providing a professional advisory service embracing all areas of Fire Safety management including, oversight of fire strategies, Fire Safety procedures and instructions, quality checking fire risk assessments, Fire Safety inspections/audits, investigating Fire Safety incidents, measuring performance and KPI’s. Providing regular reports as agreed.

To deputise for the Health and Safety Manager on Fire Safety related matters and provide essential cover to other Senior Fire Safety Advisor- Care/Extra Care during periods of leave or absence.

About you:

• Sound practical knowledge of the application of Fire Safety standards within care and social housing environments or similar complex environments
• Proven track record of delivering fire risk assessments to a compliant standard.
• A excellent understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021, Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, Building Safety Act 2022 and associated Fire Safety guidance relative to care and housing environments
• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel
• Excellent knowledge of MS Word
• Excellent knowledge of SharePoint
• Commitment to continuing professional development
• Recognised Fire Safety or Fire Risk Assessment qualification (ideally Level 4 or equivalent)
• Full current driving Licence
