About Karma Nirvana:
Karma Nirvana is the longest-established specialist charity dedicated to supporting victims and survivors of Honour Based Abuse (HBA). For close to three decades, we have led the campaign against Honour Based Abuse; supporting, educating and empowering all those impacted to live abuse-free.
We run the national Honour Based Abuse Helpline, train frontline practitioners and professionals, and campaign for change, working with parliamentarians and policy-makers. Central to our work is the voice and lived experience of survivors of Honour Based Abuse.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to contacts on the Honour Based Abuse Helpline, offering tailored support to service users.
Provide emotional and practical assistance, safety planning, and referrals to appropriate agencies.
Lead and support helpline staff, ensuring they receive appropriate supervision and support.
Advocate on behalf of service users when necessary, promoting their rights and concerns.
Requirements:
Previous experience in the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) or Domestic Abuse (DA) sector.
Good understanding of HBA, VAWG, and DA.
Ability to manage sensitive and challenging calls with empathy and professionalism.
Commitment to working towards ending all forms of violence against women and girls.
