Job Description
Our client is one of the leading providers of plant hire in the UK and Ireland. They are currently looking for a Senior Hire Controller to join their team.
The Senior Hire Controller will manage the team on the hire desk as well as ensuring the plant hire fleet is efficiently coordinated.
This is a full-time position based at their Wembley office, Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Hire Controllers.
- Develop strategies for optimal plant hire fleet utilization and asset tracking.
- Ensure accuracy in hire transactions and oversee a team of Hire Controllers.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders for effective communication.
- Adhere to company guidelines and utilize fleet management systems.
- Update reports on hires, deliveries, and collections.
- Address customer complaints and collaborate with operational teams.
- Review customer requirements and market trends for growth opportunities.
- Implement efficient processes to enhance productivity.
- Manage risks and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and report KPIs to senior management for improvement.
- Stay informed on industry developments and best practices in plant hire and construction logistics.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in plant hire with a strong grasp of machinery.
- Outstanding leadership skills, inspiring teams to meet targets and deliver top-notch customer service.
- Effective communication, adept at building relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Solid knowledge of plant hire operations, including equipment management and billing procedures.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, handling multiple deadlines.
- Proficient in hire management systems, MS Office, Syrinx, Power BI, and relevant software.
- Proactive and results-oriented, driving continuous process improvements.
- Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations in plant hire.
- Valid driver's license with a willingness to travel.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in plant hire or construction logistics preferred.
