Astrum Search is delighted to be working alongside a global, US listed, wholesale and distribution business to recruit a Senior Internal Auditor into their UK based team.
The business has recently been acquired and is going through lots of change as the business is integrated into a wider group. This role offers great exposure and the opportunity to join a complex organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct audit assignments and projects, in accordance with internal and global internal audit methodology standards
- Utilise a range of audit techniques, adapting strategy when required, to test the effectiveness and efficiency of the control environment
- When leading audit projects, oversee the team activity and produce a clear, balanced, and challenging audit report to be reviewed by the Audit Manager
- Develop and agree value-adding action plans with management and auditees, and track the completion of agreed actions
- Coach, mentor, and develop more junior team members, reviewing audit work performed.
Skills & Experience:
- A professional qualification is required (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIA or equivalent)
- Previous internal audit experience, and strong technical expertise of professional internal audit practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to persuade and influence others
- Excellent working knowledge of financial reporting standards (US GAAP, IFRS) and SOX compliance programmes
- Flexible approach to work and able to work in small teams and individually when required
- Data analytics skills are highly desirable.
