As part of the Corporate Communications/Energy Policy department at RWE, the Internal Communications team take responsibility for informing, motivating and engaging the 20,000 employees who work for us. The role we have on offer sits within the RWE Internal Communications team but will be based in the UK.

As a team we communicate with our many internal audiences using a range of channels and formats that is bringing our RWE vision "Our energy for a sustainable life" to life and establish our "Growing Green" strategy as the compass for our actions. The business within the UK is a fundamental driver of our strategy and is a key territory when it comes to providing the pace required within the green energy world.

Your future plans

  • As part of the global Internal Communications team, you will contribute to the company's strategic transformation and support our growth prospects in renewable energies in the UK.
  • Your focus is to create and deliver targeted communications that enable staff understand the role they are playing in the energy transformation and how RWE is contributing to the green energy world.
  • You will work with your Internal Communications colleagues, as well as stakeholders, to develop internal communication plans and tactics for RWE based on the internal RWE communication strategy.
  • As part of the Internal Communications team who are based in the UK, you work with your colleagues to support communications that provide a consistent narrative across the UK.
  • Your experience will allow you to understand your stakeholders' communications needs to create the most appropriate approach for them
  • You have advanced writing and editing skills. You excel in translating strategies and complex technical content into easy-to-understand Internal Communications tailored for different internal audiences.
  • You have experience working with, and for, managers on different corporate levels and can support them to deliver their communications needs. You know how to manage your stakeholders in a complex, matrix organisation
  • In this matrix organisation, you will work with the wider UK based communications team (which includes media relations, social media, events, political affairs) to support the communications needs in the UK.
  • You have experience of working with complex content management systems and editorial software.
  • As well as the usual office based operating systems you will also have worked with systems and tools that support your role e.g. digital screen software such as Magicinfo; design tools such as Canva etc

Your profile

  • You have extensive years of professional communications experience, especially in Internal Communications or corporate communications
  • You have a sound understanding of integrated communication and extensive experience in the conception and implementation of internal communication campaigns and measures.
  • You think strategically and translate the needs of our stakeholders into creative communication concepts and activities.
  • You have an integrated approach to communications and an eye for the bigger picture in an international corporate environment.
  • You enjoy managing your own communications projects from initial conversations to the final deliverable elements.
  • You know how to write for an internal audience and can adapt you style to the multiple channels and formats we use
  • You deliver confident, audience appropriate texts in English to analyse complex energy industry and energy policy issues
  • Knowledge of the energy sector is not a necessity but could be a positive factor
  • You are resilient and self-motivated; flexibility and the ability to work in a team will characterise your personality

How we work day-to-day

  • The role is full time permanent position working five days a week
  • This role sits in the UK but on a day-to-day basis we work with our colleagues who are based in the countries we operate in, especially Germany, the Netherlands and the US.
  • This role is part of the RWE Internal Communications team who are based in the Swindon office.
