The Digital, Data & Technology Department (DDaT) is seeking to appoint a Senior IT Project Manager
About the role
The University of Bath (UoB) is embarking on the next stage of its digital transformation journey. A key part of this is to transform the way in which technology services are delivered. The Digital, Data & Technology Department (DDaT) is a passionate community of technical experts who provide digital, data and technology services that are accessible, relevant, and secure. We are motivated by helping people solve problems, be more effective in what they do today and innovating to raise the bar of what can be achieved in future.
Significant change in service provision is anticipated and it is vital to have effective, proactive engagement with other departments and faculties. This will address a key improvement required within the Evolution project to develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders to deliver greater efficiency, coherence, cooperation and coordination.
The University of Bath’s Digital, Data and Technology Department (DDaT) is responsible for the efficient delivery of IT infrastructure, digital products, and services; playing a vital part in enabling the University’s staff, students and researchers to achieve its strategic goals.
This IT Senior Project Manager role is a key part of the University’s DDaT Team, reporting to the Lead Project Manager and the Head of IT Portfolio Management.
As the IT Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of projects from requirements gathering and drafting the business case to defining the solution that meets our user’s needs, budget management, and delivery schedule, ensuring best-in-class delivery through to the in-life management process.
You will work closely with the Portfolio Management Office to embed and promote project lifecycle management and assurance and provide effective project reporting as required and requested both within DDaT and with external stakeholders.
You will have responsibility for managing projects, including the management of associated project teams, working together, and reporting progress to a Project Board. Effective engagement with project stakeholders will be essential.
What we can offer you:
- a very generous employer contributory pension scheme
- generous annual leave allowance with an additional 5 discretionary days so that you can enjoy a positive work-life balance
- we are a family-friendly University and with an increasingly agile workforce, are open to flexible working arrangements
- an excellent reward package that recognises the talents of our diverse workforce
- a wide range of personal and professional development opportunities
- a number of support options available for new and existing staff to help with the cost of some immigration expenses which you may be eligible for: Relocation allowance, Visa Reimbursement, Interest-Free Loan.
We consider ourselves to be an inclusive university, where difference is celebrated, respected and encouraged. We have an excellent international reputation with staff from over 60 different nations and have made a positive commitment towards gender equality and intersectionality receiving a Silver Athena SWAN award. We truly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and backgrounds will lead to a better environment for our employees and students, so we encourage applications from all genders, backgrounds, and communities, particularly from under-represented groups, and value the positive impact that will have on our teams.
We are very proud to be an autism-friendly university and are an accredited Disability Confident Leader; committed to building disability confidence and supporting disabled staff.
