About the role The Discipline of Environmental Science is moving quickly to meet the requirements of both cutting edge academic research and collaboration with external organisations. We are looking for a Senior Lecturer in Earth Sciences with a specialisation in reservoir modelling. The successful candidate will teach geosystems modelling across the Earth Sciences programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level as well as supervising student projects across the discipline. We are seeking a candidate with applied industry experience of the subsurface modelling of geoenergy systems utilising geological energy pathways such as geothermal energy, hydrogen exploration, storage and production, geological carbon sequestration, or other traditional and non-traditional geoenergy pathways. Expertise in utilising industry-standard reservoir modelling software is essential. Applied experience of GIS and a background including fieldwork are highly desirable. You will be expected to establish and foster relations with relevant partners (e.g. industry, government, academic) in the field.  As a member of the Environmental Sciences team you will take a leading role in developing our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, keeping the curriculum authentic, applied and future focussed, and ensuring an exceptional student experience. Industry engagement and/or research activity are an important part of the role and the post holder will be responsible for projects and managing other researchers where appropriate. Graduate outcomes are a particular focus for us, so skills in enhancing student employability or research profile would be welcomed.
