Could you lead on the provision of legal services ensuring effective legal advice and supporting internal stakeholders at the British Red Cross?
A day in the life of a Specialist Senior Legal Counsel will involve:
- Triage and manage the efficient and effective provision of legal services.
- Support internal stakeholders in getting the right legal advice through the development and management of efficient processes and arrangements.
- Manage the relationship, contract, and performance of the third-party Legal Counsel
- Providing legal advice to the organisation where appropriate and more efficient than external counsel.
- Reviewing and drafting legal documents and contracts.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, maintaining a client-focused approach to providing legal services.
- Working within the wider Professional Services as a positive team member
- A solicitor or barrister with an existing practising certificate in England and Wales.
- The ability to complete a thorough review of legal documents and have accuracy in legal analysis and interpretation.
- Strong ethical principles and adherence to professional standards and the ability to make ethical decisions in challenging situations.
- Critical thinking to analyse legal issues and find solutions through effective problem solving. Including the ability to make quick and measured decisions.
- Ability to present and brief effectively on complex legal matters across all levels of the Organisation. In addition to effective written communication for drafting legal documents and contracts.
- Good understanding of risk, control, and due diligence to support decision making and advice.
- Considerable post qualification experience.
- Experience advising on legal matters.
