The Senior Manager of Common Services & Server Infrastructure will supervise a distributed team of 6-8 engineers who support server and Cloud Infrastructures for developers and critical applications.
The manager will promote and implement agile practices and help build a secure and highly available computing infrastructure, including ESXi, Proxmox, K8S, or public cloud. They will also implement DevOps/GitOps tooling and provide Infrastructure APIs for developers to consume Infrastructure as code.
This role will collaborate with developers, application support, security, and production systems to ensure the success of digital services and the adoption of DevOps.
Leading the team you will:
- design, build, and manage On-Prem and Cloud infrastructure and applications.
- be responsible for server and Cloud Infrastructure, including deployment, management, and security.
- partner with InfoSec to implement security controls for critical Network infrastructure. Additionally, you will be responsible for CI/CD pipeline management and setting guidelines for high availability, performance, monitoring, backup, and restores.
- Collaborate with various stakeholder organizations to build trusted relationships.
- Implement process and technical improvements that help in just-in-time operational tooling and consolidation of tools and dashboards.
- Prioritize initiatives of infrastructure solutions and enact approved improvement recommendations.
- Encourage and support the application of DevOps principles and tools for developers and automation engineers.
The ideal candidate:
- has proven experience in Infrastructure as a Service, and leading Cloud/DevOps teams. They should have led diverse IT, SRE, Server Infra, or Cloud Infra teams. They will handle the private & public cloud environments, Securing, Access Management, RA/VA of Infra, optimizing server and networking landscape in a Data Center setting, and Deployment automation. Core knowledge of core SRE principles and DevSecOps is also vital.
- shows proficiency in networking including server OS, infra management, hypervisors (VMware ESXi, Proxmox), clusters, private cloud (OpenStack, Kubernetes), and public cloud. Skilled in Python, Perl, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- is knowledgeable in CM tools like Puppet, Chef, Salt, or Ansible. Capable of supporting diverse and intricate developer environments from CI/CD tooling to developer client environments (Vagrant/LXC/Docker etc.).
