Summary

This is an exciting role if you have marketing and communications experience and are looking to develop your career with a high-profile charitable organisation.

?In this varied role, you'll support our ambitious program of projects at Saltram. You'll lead the development and delivery of Saltram's marketing and communications plan, helping to achieve the Trust's goals and charitable aims, whilst connecting people to our special places and our work as we invest in heritage, nature and wellbeing in Plymouth.?

You'll work with our local teams and internal consultancy colleagues to promote Saltram, sharing stories across our marketing channels to raise the profile of our work at Saltram with new and existing audiences.

We are currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2024

What you'll be doing

This role demands an excellent communicator who thrives in a complex and collaborative working environment, embodying the drive and ambition to make a significant impact.

Supported by the Visitor Experience and Project team at Saltram, you'll lead the development and delivery of Saltram's marketing and communications plan for both the visitor business and the programme of projects. You will work with the property team and the Project Client to support relationships across the city of Plymouth and you'll be on hand to offer support and advice to project and property colleagues and take the lead on all marketing and communications activity at Saltram. You'll be planning, creating, editing, proof-reading, co-ordinating, collating and sharing content for offline and online channels. You'll work on our website and support our social media activity, sharing fascinating stories about the work we do with the media and enticing visitors to come back?season after season.

Overall, it's a diverse and challenging role and a great step for those wanting to pursue a career in Marcomms.

Who we're looking for

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • practical experience in a marketing and communications role, with a good understanding of how different channels can be used effectively
  • experience of developing marketing and communications plans
  • experience of communicating change
  • good eye for presentation, with an understanding of brand management
  • proven track record in creating, using and editing content across different channels (web, social, media, PR, email), based on audience insight and evaluation
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of information shared
  • good team player, able to motivate others and build strong relationships
  • well organised and able to manage multiple pieces of work to meet deadlines
  • A passion for heritage, nature and community
